Hey dads, we live in the age of scripted culture, in which role modeling influences our lives and the lives of our children. From movies stars to sport stars, politicians, academic achievers, successful business moguls, and self-claimed millionaires and billionaires, everyone picks his or her role model including our kids as they grow and understand life clearly. Is this bad? Not at all ! However, it is good to let kids know the true meaning of role models and the difference between aspiring to be like a popular star within the talent context of such star and trying live like how such star lives and behaves in real life.
The bigger picture: Encourage them to be better than their role models and learn from ONLY good things including good inspirations and healthy characters from such role models. Guide them to live their original talents and good selves, while they draw good inspiration from their role models within the context of healthy characters, great talents, gifts, and positivity of such role models.
